E3 – Multiplier Event in Spain

The GIST Multiplier Event (ME) was a successful event held on May 3rd, 2023, at the Technological Centre of Furniture and Wood of the Region of Murcia (CETEM) in Yecla, Spain. This successful event was organised with the main aim of disseminating the GIST project to different target groups of the project interested in its outcomes.

The participants were VET students from the organisation “I.E.S. Azorín”. They would like to know more about the bionic status and what they could learn for its professional future.

The objectives of the event were to present, promote and make available the main results of GIST project to support their exploitation among different target groups and for some of these audiences providing them work-based training and tools to reach in the future the bionic status.

The event had a duration of around 1 hour (from 09.00 to 10.00 am) with a total of 20 attendants. The agenda was divided into five parts.

The first covered the welcoming of the participants to the event (all participants are requested to sign a list of attendance). This was done by the Communication Manager of CETEM. In addition, she presented our organisation (CETEM) to the attendants and also the objective of this event apart from the agenda. Finally, she presented a short overview of the GIST project.

The second part was focused on detailing the main results of GIST projects: its three outputs. For that purpose, Almudena Muñoz (CETEM’s project manager of this project) presented the  main results obtained in each of the outputs.

Before the discussion and closing of the event, CETEM (led by the design technician Juan Carlos Bañón) made a presentation about the possibilities of reaching bionic status by the implementation of 4.0 technologies. For that purpose, he did a presentation related to 3d printing.

Later on, Ms. Almudena Muñoz and Ms. Débora Benzal presented the different development done by CETEM to reach bionic status. For that purpose, they organised a visit to the different R&D department of the research centre to show to the attendants the initiatives taken by CETEM to develop the digital transformation of the organisation from the technological, human resources and leadership perspective.

Finally, the event finished with a short discussion of the project. Some attendants give their opinion about the project and the results achieved. CETEM also asks attendants to visit the e-learning platform once it will be ready in Spanish by the end of May.

Hence, CETEM could conclude that the multiplier event of the GIST project organised in Spain fulfilled its main objective which was to disseminate the results of the project at national level, with the ultimate aim that as many target groups as possible could take advantage of the opportunities that can be provided by all the e-learning course of the GIST project, which is available on the different partners language, created exclusively for this project. They will also be able to take advantage of the other results of the project such as the need analysis, the pilot methodology or the Joint Curriculum defined.

Furthermore, the impact of the project has been very positive because apart from the attendants, there are already different stakeholders (enterprises, VET centres, etc.) requesting more information about the course. This corroborates the relevance of the project and the interest in it, as well as the impact of the project will go beyond the 24 months of project duration.
